What is construction software for M&E contractors?

Can we capture test readings on site?
Yes, and that is the point. Values are entered on a phone or tablet at the panel or the plant, against the circuit, the system or the asset. Limits are built into the test sheet, so an out-of-range reading is flagged while you are still standing there rather than being queried a fortnight later, and the certificate is generated from the record instead of being typed up again.
How does commissioning tracking work?
Every system sits on a matrix with its stages: pre-commissioning, static, dynamic and witnessed. Each stage moves only when the evidence is attached, so the main contractor and the commissioning manager can see exactly which systems are ready to witness and witnessing is booked against systems that will actually pass.
Does it build the O&M manual?
It builds the record the O&M manual is made from. Test sheets, commissioning certificates, asset data and photographs are filed against the system as the work happens, then exported as a pack per system or per floor. Outstanding items, such as a manufacturer certificate still to arrive, are visible before completion instead of being discovered in the last fortnight.
Can we record asset data for the facilities team?
Yes. Plant, panels and valves are tagged on site with their location, serial number, photograph and full test and commissioning history. The facilities team inherits a populated asset register on day one rather than a folder of PDFs, and each asset can be scanned to bring up its record.
Does it work with no signal?
Yes. The app works offline in plant rooms, risers, basements and lift shafts. Checks, readings and photographs are captured on the device and sync automatically once it is back in signal, so nobody has to leave the plant room to record a reading.
Will it fit the main contractor's process?
Usually, yes. Your test sheets and install checks are digitised as they are written, including any forms the main contractor or the specification demands, and the output can be issued as a PDF pack in the format they expect. Where the main contractor also uses Insite, your record sits alongside theirs rather than being re-issued.
