Frequently asked questions
What is construction software for main contractors?
It is one system for the site records a main contractor has to keep: quality inspections, snagging, progress, health and safety, compliance and commercial change. Insite captures each of those on a phone at the work face and holds them against the project, so every site on your books reports the same way and the record is complete without chasing.
Can we use the same inspection standard on every project?
Yes. Your ITPs and check sheets are digitised once and issued to every project, so a site in Leeds and a site in Southampton are measured the same way. Updating a template pushes the change to every live site immediately.
How do we get quality evidence out of our subcontractors?
Subcontractors complete your forms on their own phones, with photos attached to each line and a timestamp on submission. The record lands against your project rather than arriving as a PDF by email weeks later, and snags are assigned to the responsible package and closed out with photographic evidence.
Does Insite handle RFIs and technical submittals?
Yes. RFIs and technical submittals are logged from site with photos attached, dated, assigned and tracked to a response, so delay is evidenced rather than argued about.
Can we track variations for the valuation?
Yes. Instructed change is recorded on site the day it happens with a photo, comment, date and name, then exported for the valuation. That turns a commercial conversation into a records conversation.
How does reporting work across multiple projects?
Because every project uses the same templates, progress, quality and safety data roll up across the portfolio. You can compare first time pass rates by project, trade and subcontractor, and see which sites are drifting while it can still be changed.
Does it work with no signal?
Yes. Everything is captured offline, including photos and signatures, and syncs as soon as the device is back in range. Basements, lift shafts and rural sites are the normal case, not the exception.
How long does it take to roll out across our sites?
Days rather than months. Your templates are configured for you, the app runs on iOS, Android and web, and site training fits into a single toolbox talk. Most contractors run one project as a pilot and then roll out across the portfolio.
